Seniors

Many seniors were gardening as a way of life long before you or I could walk. They led the way in farm-to-table and planting techniques.

Rarely did you see a house that didn’t have a vegetable garden out back, or one that wasn’t enhanced by inviting greenery and petals in the yard. Flowering porches for guests and root cellars for vegetables were the order of the day!

It isn’t hard to imagine how much joy any stab at gardening affords the aging senior. Some seniors live on their own or with families and may have assistance with this, but many do not. Still others live in Assisted Living Facilities or Nursing Homes and rarely- if ever- have opportunity to sink their hands in the soil and nurture a beautiful growing thing.

Let’s give them that chance! The memories of gardening on gorgeous sunny days with those powerful plant & soil smells will delight and excite!

I adore working with seniors! Myself, and my guitar have a track record of coming in to assisted living facilities to sing songs with them.  I’ve also presented many healthy cooking classes in 55+ communities.

Please consult with me and I can put together a hands-on program that will work for your particular group of seniors- one that is that is sensitive to the stages they are at.

You may also want to consider building a MEMORY GARDEN

for your home or facility

(We can do that!)
